Larry Seymour has always had a love of art and animals. While in elementary school, Larry won several ribbons for his artwork which fueled his desire to excel in the talent he had. While in high school and college, Larry centered his artistic talents on doing portraits of famous people as well as friends. Larry fif portraits of both John F. Kennedy and John Glenn from whom received letters thanking him for their drawings.
After making the switch to paint wildlife, Larry was encourage to enter the 1986 South Carolina duck stamp competition in which he finished fifth. Later in 1986, Larry ws voted South Carolina Wildlife Federation Artist of the Year. From this point on, Larry knew that wildlife was the subject matter he was suppose to paint. After two trips to Africa Larry has concentrated this subject matter to mostly the incredible animals that exist on this fabulous continent.
Larry works in both watercolor and graphite, giving the collector several choices in purchasing his work. Larry has worked with both Robert Bateman and Carl Brenders, whom he feels is his greatest influence. Larry has over fifty limited edition prints with more planned for the future.
